HISTORY

Cantauri vendimia Seleccionada took its first steps in 1998, as until then only young or vintage wines were produced. It was the second generation that decided to focus on quality aged wines.

VINEYARD

Bodegas Alonso González has an area of 20 ha of TEMPRANILLO grapes, 2 .5 ha of other red varieties (Garnacha, Mazuelo, Graciano, etc.). Located from 520 m. to 580 m. above sea level, which gives it a special microclimate, protected on the right by the Sierra Cantabria mountain range and on the left by the river Ebro. Clayey-limestone soils.

ELABORATION

We select our vineyards by age, never less than 30 years old and with a limited production. After manual harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and transferred to stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation followed by malolactic fermentation. Once obtained, the wine is aged in American oak and then in the bottle. This process takes at least two and a half years.
